Robert Vernon Pinkney Jr.

Robert V. Pinkney Jr was born on April 3, 1954 - July 28, 2019. He was the proud father of 4 girls, 7 grandchildren (1 deceased on 4/1/2020 -Justin Pinkney-Terry ), and one great-grandson, Armani Justin Pinkney, born on January 10, 2021. He enjoyed life. During his free time he purchased music at various stores in the city like Disc-o-rama, J & R Music World, Tower Records, Virgin Records, The Wiz, Sam Goody and others. It was also important that his music had the highest quality sound. He purchased equipment from Park Avenue Audio, Stereo Exchange, Harvey's in Midtown and ordered from Crutchfield and Gothic Cabinet Craft to store his music and equipment in. He also read the newspaper often and his tons of magazines from Consumer Report and Time Out to Stereophile and Jazz Times. During the course of his life, he traveled often, attended various concerts, and was extremely passionate about music. From the various subscriptions he received, purchasing top-notch stereo equipment, and meticulously cleaning his vinyl, it was the thing he looked to for calm and peace.

Additionally, he enjoyed cooking (bragging about his pancakes, crab cakes, shrimp, and cream of wheat. He spent quality time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Back in the day he enjoyed bowling and pool. Handball and paddle ball he enjoyed throughout his life.  Robert was extremely articulate and used various gestures and emphasis to demonstrate his point when it came to religion, political issues, anything plaguing children, people of color, and injustice overall.

For relaxation it was always music, readng the newspaper, ironing, and for some reason laundry.es. This site will provide a visual to some of the items he saved and collected that we came across when sorting his belongings. We hope that you have the opportunity to enjoy everything we have displayed on the site for you...
